The Department of Children and Education works on behalf of the preschool committee and the primary school committee. The department is responsible for preschool activities, school-age childcare, primary school, and adapted primary school. Job Description

As an economist/school administrator, you will work closely with the school's management team on systematic quality work and school development. In the role of economist/school administrator, you will have primary responsibility for finance, premises, and ongoing administration, as well as responsibility for substitute procurement for the unit. As an administrator, you will share the responsibility with another administrator to coordinate the office, student and staff administration in the municipality's various systems, and be the school's outward face. You will be responsible for contacts with the municipality's various departments such as technical offices, property managers, IT department, HR department, finance department, and security department.

Your budget work will include operational responsibility for finance and budget, having reconciliations with the municipality's controllers (finance network) and principals, follow-ups, compilations, reports, and analyses. Preparing budgets, conducting analyses, and interim forecasts are part of your assignment. You should be able to work independently to support the principal by providing various decision-making materials and creating effective data analyses and processes. In the role of the school's economist/school administrator, you will work within the framework of the school's systematic work environment efforts and be responsible for the premises and the contact person for the school's landlord and cleaning company. The assignment also includes overarching responsibilities that are distributed based on the needs of the school management. Together with the principal, you will be responsible for the school's budget work, financial follow-up, administration, and work closely with the management team.

Qualifications

You have a relevant higher education and previous work experience in finance, accounting, and administration. In addition, excellent communication and collaboration skills at all levels of the organization are required, as well as the ability to plan and organize your work independently. It is a requirement that you have good knowledge of Excel. It is an advantage if you have worked in primary education and have good knowledge of relevant programs such as LIS/IBP, Proceedo, Heroma, and Edlevo.

You should be flexible and structured. You can handle many projects simultaneously while being able to prioritize and reprioritize as new needs arise. As a person, you are humble and curious, with the ability to see both details and larger contexts. You should be able to take responsibility for and lead processes independently. Your communication skills are important for your success in the role. We will place great emphasis on personal qualities. Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis.
